Cvijeta Zuzorić Art Pavilion – 90th ULUS Spring Exhibition Award
The Cvijeta Zuzorić Art Pavilion in Belgrade hosted the 90th ULUS Spring Exhibition from May 16 to June 19, 2024. This important cultural venue once again became a meeting point for contemporary Serbian art. A total of 86 artists participated, selected from 190 applicants through a public competition.
The Spring Exhibition traditionally connects different generations and artistic poetics. It provides insight into current visual production and opens space for dialogue between artists and audiences.
90th ULUS Exhibition at Cvijeta Zuzorić Art Pavilion
The jury reviewed all exhibited works presented at the Cvijeta Zuzorić Art Pavilion and carefully discussed the broader role of awards within survey exhibitions. The 2024 jury included art historian and curator Marija Ristić, artist Milena Putnik, and artist Slobodan Dane Stojanović.
Rather than presenting the prize as an unquestionable authority, the jury emphasized responsibility and continuity in artistic practice. They approached the decision transparently and unanimously selected one work that stood out for its clarity and strength.

Award-Winning Painting at Cvijeta Zuzorić Art Pavilion
Jelena Paunković received the main award for her oil painting No. 23. Through detailed depictions of plant life, she explores themes of renewal, fragility, and responsibility toward nature.
Her composition reveals a small yet meaningful world. Some plants appear vibrant and growing, while others slowly transform into fertile ground for future life. This symbolic cycle reflects broader questions about sustainability and inheritance.
The jury highlighted her technical precision, emotional sensitivity, and conceptual focus. Her work emerged as a strong artistic statement within the exhibition context.
